AI Keyboard doesn't have servers. Your text goes directly from your device to OpenRouter — we never collect, log, or store any of it. Read our privacy policy for the full picture.
The app itself is free. You pay for AI usage through your own OpenRouter account, which costs a fraction of a cent per message for the current model. OpenRouter also offers free-tier models.
So we don't have to run servers, hold your payment details, or track your usage. You get direct billing from OpenRouter and we never touch your data.
Yes — in any app that accepts keyboard input: Messages, Notes, Mail, Safari, WhatsApp, Instagram, Slack, you name it. Switch to AI Keyboard with the globe icon and you're set.
iOS keyboard extensions can only make network requests when Full Access is enabled. The permission is required so we can send your text to OpenRouter and get the transformation back. We don't use Full Access for anything else.
When you tap a style button, the text in the field is sent over HTTPS directly to OpenRouter's API, which runs it through an AI model and returns the result. We don't operate servers and we don't log or store anything. See the privacy policy for details.
Currently DeepSeek V3.2 via OpenRouter. The model can be changed in the app's source if you're building it yourself.
